The Bay area based bangla rock band , Saampan, has its roots for the last 18 years. Formed in 2005, Saampan evangelizes contemporary Bangla gaan — from the footsteps of Mohineer Ghoraguli, Cactus, Fossils,Chandrabindoo, Anjan Dutta down to the modern day bands like Prithibi, Fakira and the songs of Anupam Roy.

The band has had numerous shows in San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas and has been performing in NABC few times too. The band also featured in a television show during the World Music Festival.

In real life, the band members are fun loving tech professionals with a passion for music as anyone else.
